Out of office is set and I’m done with work for 2024!

A sign sitting on an office desk. White background, blue emoji face and the words “Current Mood: CHILL” above it.

I’ve warned my teams not to give me any urgent problems on my last working day of the year. Wearing the badge to emphasise my response.

A diamond shaped enamel badge pinned on a brown and white striped shirt. There is a thin black border on the badge, red background, and gold lettering which says “Yeah Nah!”

Happily finished as chair of the body corporate. Lawyer who thinks they know everything will discover there’s a whole lot of things I dealt with which are now their problem. I intend to spend the next month ignoring every email from the retired engineer on the committee who really needs a hobby.

Only 17 days into summer and the roads are already not coping with heavy downpours given a wetter than normal spring. Going to be an interesting summer I think, with plenty of localised flooding.

I’m finishing at 11 and having the afternoon off in lieu of working Saturday. I have a long lunch planned with a friend and do not want to be delayed. I’ll be keeping my morning meetings short by using one of two options: “stick a pin in it until next year” or “no”.

I might actually look at the suggested Threads accounts appearing on my insta feed if most weren’t either a story about someone in the wrong seat on a plane or how bad an Airbnb was. Sometimes it’s the person who has confused it for LinkedIn and is busy tooting their own horn as my Nan used to say.

📺 The latest episode of Star Trek: Lower Decks (S05E09) was possibly the best one across all five seasons. How has this show been cancelled when it just gets better with every season. 🖖🏻

I feel very seen.

📽️ Starting the Christmas movie viewing with How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000).

🍿 Rewatched How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) ★★★★

A rectangular image with a review of the movie How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The show poster is on the left and the review on the right side. Across the bottom is a rating of Avoid Okay Good Great! with Great! selected. The review reads: I love this movie and it gets a rewatch nearly every year as Christmas approaches. Jim Carrey's delivery and comic timing is key to the success of this movie. It holds up well and isn't dated. The lack of CGI is refreshing.
