I think more coffee is in order to prepare for the plumber’s visit to investigate the noise from behind the shower wall. Hoping he says it’s just the mixer tap and nothing major.

🤔 Monday but I’m still on holidays so is it really Monday.

Nobody next to me so looks like I get a window seat. Love it when that happens.

✈️ Time to fly home.

Time to get the AirPort Express bus and begin the journey home after a lovely few days in Wellington, NZ.

Looking up towards the upper levels of the NZ Parliament House or Beehive. The flag is flying and there is a clear blue sky behind it and the round building. The lower half is bushes and trees.

Having the full hotel buffet breakfast before checking out. I prefer to find local cafes rather than eat at the hotel when travelling but it’s Anzac Day public holiday so limited options. Easier to fuel up here.

📚 If a second hand bookshop has sci-fi and fantasy recommendations like this, as well as a Terry Pratchett timeline and categorisation, I’m going to be an instant fan. Just spent a lot of time browsing the very reasonably priced books in Arty Bees Books, Wellington, NZ.

A long shot of an aisle of bookshelves, lots and lots of books.A timeline and categorisation of all the Terry Pratchett Discworld books.A list of fantasy novel recommendations: I want to read a fantasy novel. Where should I start? Like Lord of the Rings but with plot and characters. Magician by Raymond Feist Keep it light. The Sword of Shannara by Terry Brooks Not that light. Guardians of the West by David Eddings I like the "classic" fantasy feeling Battleaxe bySara Douglas Maybe a little more contemporary Magician's Guild by Trudi Canavan More "heroic" Legend by David Gemmell More "gritty" The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie Not that much Gardens of the Moon by Steven Erikson Oh I like the "World building" Game of Thrones by George R R Martin Without the icky bits Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson Is there anything in world that is better than that! Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss And now? Nothing. All else will pale by comparison. Try something different like the Pern novels by Anne McCaffrey.A list of book recommendations: So you want a naval battle in space! Like Hornblower in Space? David Weber - Honor Harrington Or Patrick O'Brian in Space? David Drake - Lt. Leary More Intrigue? Lois McMaster Bujold - Miles Vorkosigan More Dressage? (yes Horse ballet and space battles) Elizabeth Moon -- Heris Serranno More Action! Jake Campbell - Lost Fleet Even More Action! Mike Shepherd - Kris Longknife

📚 Discovered a second hand bookshop. I miss decent, big, second hand bookshops where you can browse for ages.

Have had eight solid hours of sleep while I’ve been away on holidays. I really need to get an auto feeder for the cat to stop the 5am wake up and feed me demands.

🍻 Continuing to sample the local craft beers. I think it’s obligatory to try the local brews when travelling. Great playlist in this bar too.
