I have arrived at friends for dinner and have been greeted by one singing along to Divine You think You’re a Man and the other yelling out “I’m in the kitchen getting my sausage sorted”. I think the open wine bottle on the bench may not be the first.
Should be an entertaining night!
Two guys sitting at the table beside me at this cafe and I’m close enough to hear their conversation. I honestly can’t work out if they’re having a business meeting/interview or a first date.
I’m excited for them either way.
Here we are in 2023, with three years of online meetings, and people are still playing music in the background when working at home and not turning off when they talk in a meeting.
Spent the afternoon at a HR training session. Two things come to mind:
(1) What did facilitators do before they could show videos of TEDx Talks or YouTube videos?
(2) Stabbing a red hot poker in my eye might have been less painful.
A gorgeous bluesky on a lovely autumn afternoon. I love this time of year.
This old gas stripping tower is along the Brisbane river in West End. The tower was used in the removal of tar and ammonia from raw coal gas. Made in 1912, it’s heritage listed and the only one of its kind left in Australia.
If you start now and watch seven episodes a week (including specials) you will have completed all of the 2005 onward episodes of Doctor Who before the 60th special airs in November. 📺
