๐Ÿ“บ Finished watching Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024) โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…ยฝ

A rectangular image with a review of the Netflix series Avatar The Last Airbender (2024). The left third contains the series poster and the review is in other two-thirds. Across the bottom is a rating of Poor Okay Good Great with Great selected. The review reads: I'm a fan of the animated Last Airbender and was quite pleased with this live action remake. The casting is good and if you quibble that X character doesn't look the same as the animated one then I'd say you went in determined to not like it and looking for faults. The episodes are well paced and consistent to the story and it's good to see another two seasons approved. You may not plan to binge watch but you will probably find yourself doing so if you're a fan of the animated version.

๐Ÿ“บ Finished watching Mr & Mrs Smith (2024) โ˜…โ˜…

A rectangular image with a review of the Amazon series Mr & Mrs Smith (2024). The left third contains the series poster and the review is in other two-thirds. Across the bottom is a rating of Poor Okay Good Great with Okay selected. The review reads: I'm still trying to work out exactly what they were aiming for with this show. I've seen a lot of positive comments about it but I thought it was pretty average and I stalled after the sixth episode. I only finished it as I'd seen people saying how good the final episode was. I didn't think it was much better than any of the others. I don't think I'll be back for the second season if there is one.

๐Ÿ“บ Finished watching The Brothers Sun (2024) โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…

A rectangular image with a review of the television series The Brothers Sun (Season 1). The show poster is on the left and the review on the right side. Across the bottom is a rating of Poor Okay Good Great with Okay selected. The review reads: Action, comedy, drama, this has it all. Michelle Yeoh as the quintessential tiger mum with a darker background than her youngest child knows about is great. The cast really do make this show as the plot is loose and not overly developed. More like an idea which could have been a movie rather than an eight episode season itโ€™s understandable it was cancelled after the one season. Nonetheless, watchable when youโ€™re looking for something to fill in the time.

๐Ÿ“บ Time to watch the Doctor Who Christmas special before I see spoilers. A Christmas episode introducing a new Doctor. What more could you want!

I loved the three Doctor Who specials and intend to rewatch before the Christmas episode. Neil Patrick Harris as the Toymaker in the third one was brilliant casting. His routine inside UNIT HQ was wonderful silliness.

I have no issue with the way the regeneration played out in the third one. ๐Ÿ“บ

Having successfully avoided any references to Doctor Who online today Iโ€™m going to settle in and watch the first 60th special. Iโ€™m a big fan of the Tennant and Tate 2008 season so very much looking forward to them together again on my screen. ๐Ÿ“บ

Star Trek: SNW Subspace Rhapsody was a great bit of fun! The mix of serious and silly this show continues to deliver is one of its strengths. The emotional turmoil of Spock and Laโ€™an really shone through and was so consistent with their story arcs. As was the lighter side of Number One. ๐Ÿ“บ๐Ÿ––๐Ÿป

Second viewing of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds S2E7 Those Old Scientists. The crossover with Lower Decks was so well done and I loved the references to Enterprise NX-01 and crew. Had touches of Lower Decks humour without being out of character for the SNW crew. I want that recruiting poster! ๐Ÿ––๐Ÿป๐Ÿ“บ

I really enjoyed Star Trek: Strange New Worlds S2E6. Celia Rose Gooding as Uhura is so good and it was great to see a story focus on her. The interplay between Pelia & Number One, Chapel and Spock, a farewell to Hemmer. That end scene of Uhura, Kirk and Spock was just the best. ๐Ÿ––๐Ÿป๐Ÿ“บ
